The Seventh Trumpet – Revelation 11:15-19

Revelation 8:13 (NASB) Then I looked, and I heard an eagle flying in midheaven, saying with a loud voice, “Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpet of the three angels who are about to sound!”

Revelation 11:15 (NASB) Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.”

Revelation 11:19 (NASB) And the temple of God which is in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant appeared in His temple, and there were flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder and an earthquake and a great hailstorm.

Revelation 16:1 (NASB) Then I heard a loud voice from the temple, saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”

Revelation 11:15 (NASB) Then the seventh angel sounded; and there were loud voices in heaven, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ; and He will reign forever and ever.”

Revelation 16:1 (NASB) Then I heard a loud voice from the temple, saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.”

 I. THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF CHRIST’S REIGN

Revelation 8:1 (NASB) When the Lamb broke the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.

Revelation 5:1-2 (NASB) 1 I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a book written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals. 2 And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, “Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals?”

Revelation 5:4-5 (NASB) 4 Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it; 5 and one of the elders said* to me, “Stop weeping; behold, the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.”

Revelation 5:7 (NASB) And He came and took the book out of the right hand of Him who sat on the throne.

Revelation 5:11 (NASB) Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands,

Daniel 7:9-10 (NASB) 9 “I kept looking Until thrones were set up, And the Ancient of Days took His seat; His vesture was like white snow and the hair of His head like pure wool. His throne was ablaze with flames, Its wheels were a burning fire. 10 “A river of fire was flowing and coming out from before Him; Thousands upon thousands were attending Him, and myriads upon myriads were standing before Him; The court sat, And the books were opened.

Daniel 7:10 (KJV) A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

Daniel 7:10 (ESV) A stream of fire issued and came out from before him; a thousand thousands served him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him; the court sat in judgment, and the books were opened.

Psalms 103:19 (NASB) The Lord has established His throne in the heavens, And His sovereignty rules over all.

Psalms 145:13 (NASB) Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, And Your dominion endures throughout all generations.

Daniel 4:34 (NASB) “But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom endures from generation to generation.

John 18:36 (NASB) Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but as it is, my kingdom is not of this realm.”

John 3:5 (NASB) Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Matthew 6:10 (NASB) ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.

Revelation 20:6 (NASB) Blessed and holy is the one who has a part in the first resurrection; over these the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ and will reign with Him for a thousand years.

1 Corinthians 15:24 (NASB) then comes the end, when He hands over the kingdom to the God and Father, when He has abolished all rule and all authority and power.

Daniel 7:13-14 (NASB) 13 “I kept looking in the night visions, and behold, with the clouds of heaven One like a Son of Man was coming, And He came up to the Ancient of Days And was presented before Him. 14 “And to Him was given dominion, Glory and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations and men of every language Might serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion Which will not pass away; And His kingdom is one Which will not be destroyed.

II. THE RESPONSE OF PRAISE TO THE ANNOUNCEMENT

Revelation 4:10 (NASB) the twenty-four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne…

Revelation 5:8 (NASB) When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

Revelation 5:14 (NASB) And the four living creatures kept saying, “Amen.” And the elders fell down and worshiped.

Revelation 4:4 (NASB) Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads.

a. They praise him because He reigns supreme

Revelation 1:8 (NASB) “I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 4:8 (NASB) And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say, “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.”

Psalms 24:1 (NASB) The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it.

b. They praise Him because of His righteous judgment

Acts 14:17 (NASB) and yet He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good and gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.”

Matthew 5:45 (NASB) so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

c. They praise Him because He rewards graciously

Revelation 20:12 (NASB) And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened

d. The praise Him because He judges eternally

II. THE ASSURANCE OF GOD’S PROMISED FAITHFULNESS

Hebrews 8:5 (NASB) who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by God when he was about to erect the tabernacle; for, “See,” He says, “that you make all things according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain.”
