I. THEY HAD FOCUSED DETERMINATION
John 8:31 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine;
II. THEY WERE EDUCATED IN GOD’S WORD
2 Timothy 4:1-2 I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by His appearing and His kingdom: 2 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.
2 Timothy 4:3-4 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths.
III. THEY WERE INVOLVED IN LOVING FELLOWSHIP
Hebrews 10:24-25 and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, (25) not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Hebrews 3:13 But encourage one another day after day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
IV. THEY WERE INVOLVED IN GODLY WORSHIP
V. THEY WERE UNSELFISH AND CONSIDERATE OF EACH OTHER
VI. THEY MULTIPLIED GREATLY IN NUMBERS
Acts 1:15 At this time Peter stood up in the midst of the brethren (a gathering of about one hundred and twenty persons was there together)
Acts 2:41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls.
Acts 4:4 But many of those who had heard the message believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.
Acts 5:28 saying, “We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”
Acts 6:7 The word of God kept on spreading; and the number of the disciples continued to increase greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were becoming obedient to the faith.
