God’s Greatest Gift – John 3:16
John 3:16 (NASB) “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
I. GOD’S LOVE IS EXTRAVAGANT
Gen. 1:1 In the beginning God… To have a feeling affection, or regard for, to be strongly attached to or attracted toward to hold dear
Romans 5:8 – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
II. GOD’S LOVE IS EXTENSIVE
III. GOD’S LOVE IS EXPENSIVE
IV. GOD’S LOVE IS EXPANSIVE
1 Timothy 2:3-4 (NASB) 3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
V. GOD’S LOVE IS EXCLUSIVE
John 3:3 (NASB) Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 (NASB) 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; 9 not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.
Titus 3:5 He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.
Step # 1 – I need to HEAR the gospel
Rom. 10:17 So faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of Christ
Step #2 – I need to AGREE with the facts of the gospel
Step #3 – I need to TRUST
Acts 4:12 And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved.
I John 5:12 He who has the son has life; he who does not have the son of God does not have life.
VI. GOD’S LOVE IS EXCEPTIONAL
VII. GOD’S LOVE IS ETERNAL
John 14:6, I am the way the truth and the life, no one comes to the father but by me.
I John 5:12, life is in the Son and whosoever has the Son has life.
John 11:25 “I am the resurrection and the life…”
John 1:4 “In him was life…”
