I. PRINCIPLES TO FOLLOW IN DISCOVERING YOUR GIFTS

a. We need a life of consecration

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? (20) For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

Presentation + transformation = realization

b. We need to change our thinking

c. We need to work together

Ephesians 4:16 from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.

II. PRINCIPLES TO EMPLOY IN DEVELOPING YOUR GIFTS

a. Faithfully use the spiritual gift(s)

2 Timothy 1:6 For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.

b. Be attentive to others with use of your gift(s)

Romans 1:11 For I long to see you so that I may impart some spiritual gift to you, that you may be established;

c. Pray for a teachable spirit and a willing heart

James 4:6 But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says, “GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.”

III. PRINCIPLES TO EMPLOY IN IMPLEMENTING YOUR GIFTS

a. The structured sphere of service.

b. The events sphere of ministry

c. The Personal sphere of service

Ephesians 5:18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit,
